Anyone know where I can download a program to convert PGN files to Chessbase
please ?

I understand that there are CBF and CBH and CBH is the more recent version I
believe ?
I tried PGN2CB.exe but not sure which this creates. Wouldn't load into
Chessbase Light although this may have been because the number of games in
the original PGN > 8000 limit of Chessbase - error message wasn't clear !

Thanks,

Andy

The PGN2CB.exe progrma converts PGN to CBF (old Chessbase format).

Chessbase Lite can read either PGN or CBH (new Chessbase format) files
and so can translate back and forth between the formats.

Chessbase 8 can read PGN, CBF or CBH files and can translate between
any of them.

Fritz 5 (and beyond) can do the same as Chessbase Lite, but I am not
sure it can read/write a CBF file.

If you are tying to translate to the files in orde to use Fritz o
Chessbase (8 or lite), I suggest that you open the PGN file and
copy/paste the games into a CBH database. I don't know of any way to
batch translate PGN into CBH.

<snip>

Yes, it can. CBF is no problem.
